Conservation Camping Pass (DOC Camping)
Stay on many of the best camping grounds for less? Now you can when you pre-purchase the Conservation Camping Pass, specially designed for campervan renters.
Department of Conservation (DOC)
The Department of Conservation (DOC) maintains many scenic reserves, campgrounds and tracks. Campgrounds are in general very basic and only suitable for self-contained motorhomes. Not to worry, all ours are! Mostly located in or near reserves you can imagine they are best spots throughout New Zealand.
Buy the weekly pass when you hire your campervan and save on campsite fees at more than 100 of DOC’s most scenic campsites. Using the campsite pass not only gives you a discount, you also support conservation.
Each pass is valid for seven consecutive nights at designated campsites. You don’t have to stay at the same campground for seven days; you can hop around as long as they are on the list!
How much does it cost?
$25 for a Single-pass (one adult)
$50 for a Double pass (two adults)
Use the pass at more than 100 vehicle-accessible Standard and Scenic campsites. Note: the pass can’t be used to pay for Serviced campsites, campsites that are booked online, or powered sites. View a map showing where the campsite pass can be used (PDF, 5,661K (opens in new window))
