We liked the discrete logo on the motorhome, we would not stand out as tourist’s and felt that this would add to our security.
The information was clear and up front, no surprise added extras.
Having over 40 years’ experience as caravaners in the UK and Europe, we know what we want from a camping vehicle and how we want to use it. We appreciate that a motorhome is a little different and this needed further considerations to be factored in. Having researched the usual rental companies we then delved into the less well-known companies. We kept coming back to BOI. The website was very informative, liked the 360 degree view of the vehicles.
The information was clear and up front, no surprise added extras. Due to our preferred quiet style of camping, we liked the discrete logo on the motorhome, we would not stand out as tourist’s and felt that this would add to our security. We booked 3 nights at a commercial site in Christchurch, to familiarise ourselves with the “Seeker” motorhome, make our nest and to discover Christchurch.
We set off confidently into the unknown, camping for 5 weeks without electricity, using DoC sites and Freedom camping (we dislike commercial sites). The “Seeker” gave us the complete freedom and independence to experience off the “tourist route”, in some incredible locations. This was possible due to our forward planning, the extra battery, solar panel and gas that comes with this motorhome. The freedom and flexibility were much appreciated when trapped for 5 days the wrong side of landslides in Abel Tasman, caused by cyclone Gita.
The BoI exceeded our expectations, from our install inquiries – pick-up in Christchurch with a very helpful Geoff – quality and performance of the motorhome and the few hiccups (out of their control) that we encountered were dealt with quickly and in a friendly manner by Nick and Rob.
When handing the motorhome back in Auckland, Rob was telling us about the additions that they were thinking of adding to the motorhomes – yes more. As good as the folding chairs were, imagine a Gin & Tonic in a recliner at the end of the day in another fabulous location. Say no more.
Any rental is a considerable investment, we felt that the wrong choice of vehicle could make or break our experience in New Zealand. Our research and investment paid dividends.!!!!!!
